Privacy Policy

Last updated:

WikiReel (the “App”) does not require an account and does not collect or store any personal data. The App does not display ads and does not include any advertising or analytics SDKs.

What the App accesses

The App fetches Wikipedia articles using the public Wikipedia API. When you open the App, it requests a batch of random articles from Wikipedia. When you search, the search query is sent to Wikipedia's API. These requests include your device's IP address, as is standard for any internet connection. Wikipedia's own privacy practices apply to those requests — see the Wikimedia Foundation Privacy Policy.

Data we (the developer) do not collect

We do not ask for and do not receive your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or location. There is no account system, no cloud storage, and no server-side logging operated by us. We do not run analytics and we do not sell or share any data.

Third-party content

All article content (text, images, metadata) is fetched in real time from Wikipedia's public API and is subject to Wikipedia's content licenses (primarily CC BY-SA 4.0). WikiReel is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Wikimedia Foundation.

Children’s privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. Because the App does not collect personal data and does not display ads, it is suitable for all ages.
